Fantaisie Palace was built between 1761-1763 by Duchess Elisabeth Friederike Sophie von Württemberg. She was the daughter of Margrave Friedrich and his wife Wilhelmine. The palace served as her summer residence. From 1945-1948 American occupying forces used the palace as a sanatorium.
I was surprised by the museum, because I hadn't realized it would be all about gardens and the gardening techniques throughout time. I hadn't even realized that I had such a love for gardens until moving to Europe. This palace and museum will surely delight garden lovers. The gardens and architecture reminded me very much of Linderhof.
