Due to a tight schedule I didn't get to go inside of the Hohenschwangua Castle & goodness do I regret it. If you have intentions of going to other Ludwig castles you must visit this one as well. This was King Ludwig's childhood home. If you can see where his dreams began, it may help you better understand where his passions developed.
Based on other Ludwig tours you can still find out a good amount of information. The castle was first mentioned in 1397. After his mother's brother in law dying shortly after him and his mother in 1905 the palace was opened as a museum.
