I didn't think I would find myself touring a brewing company in Germany and yet I found myself not only touring one, but having a great time doing it. I had previously went to Abensberg for the Christmas Market and knew I needed to go back. The architecture of the buildings reminded me of a Dr. Seuss book. During Christmas the wait was around 4 hours long. When I went on a Friday this summer it was only 10 minutes. I highly suggest going on a week day for a more intimate experience.
The tour is in German which can get boring, but the only time I was bored was during the video they played. They give you an informational sheet in English so you can follow along word for word with what the tour guide says. My favorite part was the tower because we were allowed to explore it at our own pace and alone. The top of the tower has nice views and afterwards the ticket price included a beer and a pretzel at the restaurant. I love their light beers and I bought a few cases and a few glasses afterwards from the shop.
I suggest going with a friend or two on this trip. Take some time to relax and eat in the restaurant. I also suggest getting the double ticket and going to the museum afterwards located in the gift shop. There is some very trippy work in there that is very unique. All in all I highly suggest going on this beer tour while visiting Germany or living in Germany.
