Linderhof Palace is extremely underappreciated when speaking of palaces in Germany. Neuschwanstein, it's sister castle, is the famous one. Linderhof impressed me more with its waterworks, garden, and the bedroom. When I visited Neuschwanstein I expected the bed that was there to be in Linderhof and vice versa. The bed at Linderhof was huge and over the top, which I adored. Unfortunately you can't take photos in either castles.
The tour at Linderhof was also much more detailed and entertaining than that of Neuschwanstein. We arrived at 9 a.m. on a Monday and we were the only people on our tour. She made it very personal and took her time with us. I wish I had gotten her name, because I would have highly recommended her to anyone in the future. I didn't expect much except for a couple of pretty pictures when visiting Linderhof, but I got that and so much more!
