If you love Egyptian culture and artifacts the Egyptian Museum in Munich is a must. The collection was impressive and the audio guide very informative. The layout of the museum was very appealing and looked rather classy and modern. Possibly some of my favorite items were the Book of the Dead which was scrolled out along the wall and the mummies.

The different time periods are presented beautifully, proving to be informing but not overwhelming the visitor. The floor markings made the trail from room to room easy to navigate. If you have questions, there are staff in every room to assist you and to take care of the precious artifacts. I was incredibly impressed with this museum. I know you will leave satisfied and knowledgeable of the Egyptian time period.

The pole above is called a obelisk. Although its original location in Roman is unknown, it was looted by Napoleon in 1797 and was erected as part of a monument to show off his loot. In 1815, King Ludwig I bought the obelisk.
