If you're looking for a palace with extraordinary architecture & complete with a garden with Instagram worthy views, than the New Residence in Bamberg is calling your name.
The palace doesn't disappoint either. The 40 rooms hold over 500 pieces of authentic furniture dating from the 17th & 18th century. Possibly everyone's favorite is the Imperial Hall, which can be seen in the photographs above & below. The chandeliers, art stucco, & larger than life paintings are overwhelming. I think the tour guides know that too and allow everyone about 10 minutes to sit & take the hall in. You could sit here all day and still discover something new on the walls and ceiling.
After seeing this ceiling you'd almost forget that you're smack dab in the middle of the city. You'll be reminded as you walk on your tour and pass windows with a view of the towering cathedral and other buildings surrounding it as people stroll from one area to another.
Just look at the view of the castle, I believe that's what it is at least and the garden. It makes for a romantic way to spend your afternoon. The garden has paths intertwined into the layout of the roses & placement of the statues. The Rose Garden has over 4500 rose bushes blooming. The coffee shop that is located in the garden is a nice way to spend an afternoon with cake & some good company.
