I wasn't expecting how large the Nymphenburg Palace was. When we drive up it stretched out for what looked like mile. The photograph above only shows a small part of the palace. The grounds had many tourists giddy with delight as flowers bloomed, swans floated lazily along, & waterworks danced & played in the middle of the ponds.
With such grand gardens and court yards, I couldn't imagine the inside being even prettier. I was wrong though. The creamy pastel colors & gold filigree danced across the ceiling & walls in the form of cherubs & saints. Brightly lit crystal chandeliers glistened creating the most dreamy effect.
Possibly the most heavenly of all was the balcony with the light shining through the windows. Can you just imagine a royal standing up there looking down on you. It'd be love at first sight, surely. This ball room is the most magnificent one I have ever had the pleasure of standing inside of.
The Nymphenburg Palace is the holy grail of architecture. If you can help it, do not miss a trip to this glorious palace.
