What better way to spend the month of October celebrating Halloween than at Disneyland in Paris? I am embarrassed to say this, but I had never been to Disney and I lived in Orlando from the time I was five until I was 14. Although Paris' Disney food is not as good (I've heard that from many) & finding a character roaming around and interacting with everyone was nearly impossible, it is still a must while living in Germany.
Paris Dinsey is the only castle that has a dragon underneath. What is a castle without a dragon guarding it? Not only that, but pumpkin and cutesy fall themed Disney decor was everywhere! It felt like what I imagine the town of Halloweentown felt like. Even the specialty Halloween enamel pins and ears were a must have. We bought those and a Mickey pumpkin pail for Halloween decor.
As we arrived they were doing a fall parade & it was so delightful to watch. The costumes were vivid & the actors' delightful aura rubs off on everyone. The one character we did wait for was Jack, but it was not a short wait. He did spend a lot of time interacting with people so that was really nice, but the wait of 20 people took around an hour & a half. I wanted to also visit Mickey & Minnie in the pumpkin patch, but we didn't have the time.
My favorite ride of all was The Peter Pan Ride. It was delightful and charming. I was curious as to what the hype was and why people waiting a long time for it, but it really did live up to the wait. We were lucky to catch it and the Snow White ride at the end of the night when there were almost empty lines. When it came to dinner, we chose to eat at the Plaza Garden Restaurant and made reservations as soon as we got there for 5 pm. Prior to that time it wasn't busy at all. We wanted to see the big Halloween parade, but because we were so concerned about not being able to get a place to eat we booked it. It was pretty delicious, but my husband said it reminded him of another buffet at Disney World that tasted much better. It still was one of the better meals I've had in Europe.
We only visited the main park. I highly suggest taking 3 full days if you go at Halloween time if not more time. I am not a person who takes a long time looking at x, y, & z either so the fact that I am stating that is no lie. We arrived around 11 and we left at 10 and did a lot of shopping & only rode the following:
Peter Pan's Flight
Aladdin walk through
Pirate's of the Caribbean
Snow White
Mad Hatter's Teacups
The Mansion
Space Mountain
