It's not everyday you hear your student shouting, "Hey, Mrs. Tucker!" while riding a camel past you as you're taking in the medieval scenery & smells of Gluhwein & cinnamon drifting in the wind. Every little part of this Christmas market made me smile & it quickly developed a soft spot in every part of my soul. I felt like I would go mad from the sheer whimsy of the people in peasant & knight's costumes, fur blankets & leather bags being sold, & the sight of live majestic birds perched on trees. Every wooden stall in the woods & surrounding the castle grounds were decorated beautifully in lights, ribbons, and evergreen. This market is unique & I am genuinely concerned that no other market will ever live up to the atmosphere & fulfilling memories we gained while visiting. It is a must see when visiting Germany during the holidays.
