I was blown away by the architecture on the outside of the Seehof Palace. It reminded me of something you'd see in India. The garden grounds were wonderful as well. They were filled with orange & lemon trees, a pond, & a stunning fountain that featured waterworks bursting into sky so high you could hardly see the palace any longer.
Our tour guide was possibly the nicest man I've met in Germany yet. He tried to translate a few things for us even though we knew the tour would be in German. One fact that really stuck with me that he shared was that the Baltimore Museum of Art wanted to purchase the ballroom from this palace & have it sent back to be reassembled there.
My favorite fun fact though was that the contract that the Germans signed with the British to help them fight against America during the American Revolutionary War was signed upstairs in this very palace. For being a smaller palace & not one I'd previously heard of I hadn't expected such a prominent impact in history taking place in this building. How cool though, right?
