So you're curious if this book is for you. Well, are you PCSing to Germany or have you just arrived? Maybe you've been here for awhile, but you've mostly stayed on post. If you're considering traveling and haven't traveled much than I think this book will help you ease into the transition. This book provides you with information and resources to help you feel more comfortable with traveling abroad.
Take me for example, before moving to Germany I had not traveled much of anywhere. My family had a small income, so we never did the typical yearly family vacation. I had never even been on a plane before flying here! This book would have been extremely useful to me prior to my move.
The chart below is from the author's website & it fits perfectly with figuring out if this book is for you.

I also couldn't agree more with the author's suggestions. For example, the author, LeAnna Brown, explains that you should start locally with day trips and then extend to weekend trips. This is the best way to approach traveling when you move to a foreign country. She also calls out the popular excuses people make to NOT travel; such as, it's rainy or the food is too foreign.
She then provides solutions for these issues. For instance, when the weather is gloomy I try to schedule around 20% or less chance of rain or I do things inside. I also find the German food to be lacking in flavor and since I'm vegetarian it makes finding food at restaurants harder. I don't let this stop me though! I tend to bring snacks or I eat what I know like soups & salads.
Although it seems obvious some people will come up with excuses for everything.
As Brown says,
"Life is 10% what happens to you & 90% how you react to it."
She doesn't stop there though! Brown even provides you with tips on saving when living abroad so traveling can become reality. Some of these tips I also follow, like not having a smart phone and not paying for tours. This book is filled with tips galore.
If you're already a master at traveling on a budget this book may not be for you; however, if you could use some tips the $6.99 will be well spent & will save your sanity.

About the Author
LeAnna Brown found herself answering the same questions to well meaning military members. Then it dawned on her that while there are countless resources for PCSing and guidebooks for traveling, what about a resource for military members moving to and living abroad? "They are not your typical expats, but yet face many of the same challenges. Why is there no resource for them?" As a result, she created “So You Got Stationed Overseas: Why you NEED to make TRAVEL a part of your short PCS abroad." LeAnna currently assists fellow travelers with learning how to travel on a tight budget and teaches travelers through her blog EconomicalExcursionists.com about travel hacking.
