The well known Gasthof Shuettersmuehle, known to Americans as Steak on a Stone, is near the Devil's Cave in Pottenstein. My husband had ostrich, bison, crocodile, & kangaroo on a stone & I had crocodile. You cook it yourself on the hot stone by cutting it and flipping it. It's an enjoyable experience and a rare one at that.
My husband was in love with his bison. He said it was moist and melted in his mouth. He is very adamant about getting all bison during our next visit. The sauces they give you are all so different & makes the food melt with a bursting flavor in your mouth. I highly recommend everyone taking a part in this unique experience when living in Germany.
