The Tower of London is priority on many people's lists when visiting London & it is easy to see why. The haunted history, the crown jewels, the tower ravens, & so much more can be visited and learned while there. I have compiled tips below and information for visiting the Tower to get the full experience.
THE TOWER RAVENS
The Tower Ravens can be found anywhere at the Tower. There are six and they are captive so they can't fly away. The reason for this is because superstition states that if the ravens are lost or fly away the Crown will fall and Britian with it.
I suggest going to the cages first and seeing how many are in the cages before hunting that way you know how many are free roaming. There were two feeding inside of the cages and four free roaming when we visited. The two above were on a rail as we were walking down the staircase from the Tower walls.

WEIRD GIFTS
The Tower is notorious for the weird gifts that were given to King Henry III. These ranged from animals like bears, lions, and elephants to rare & unusual items from all over the world. The museum displays many of these gifts. It is located directly across from the Crown Jewels.

THE CROWN JEWELS
When I went to the Tower the Crown Jewels had a two and a half hour wait and the Tower had only been open for two hours. My suggestion would be to try to go during off season. I wanted to see the, but not that badly so we skipped the lines and checked out less busy areas instead.

THE TWO BODIES FOUND
Prior to going to the Tower of London I had never even heard of the story of the two bodies of children found in a wooden box near the White Tower. Many believe the bones are of the two prince Edward V of England and Richard of Shrewsbury, Duke of York ages 12 and 9.
Their Uncle, Richard, Duke of Gloucester were appointed to look after them. He instead stuck them in the Tower. The boys disappeared which is why many think their uncle murdered them because shortly after he instead became the king when neither of the boys were found. You can easily visit the White Tower today without over crowding.

You can find out about what Yeomen Warders are HERE. I highly suggest speaking to one of these fellas or the one female Yeomen Warder and getting a picture with them. The one I got a picture with was rather funny & reminded me of my father.
