The Wurzburg Residence is located 2 hours from Grafenwoehr & is open daily. The palace is Baroque in appearance and has a similar style to The Palace of Versailles in France. The interior's frescoes are nothing short of jaw dropping. The grand staircase is lavish and over the top. Napoleon himself stated that it is, "the nicest parsonage in Europe." The gardens are blossoming with greenery and flowers.
The Residence wasn't always so stunning though. In WWII the building was severely damaged. You can see photographs which provide proof of this inside of the museum. The palace really is something you don't want to miss out on when visiting Bavaria
