The Trevi Fountain, known for being the fountain for where all of your wishes come true. Although not the original story, it makes for a fun one! The original story says that if you throw a coin in the fountain with your back to it, over your right shoulder with your left hand while making a wish you will find yourself coming back to Rome. I have noticed there to be similar legends in my travels in Europe with areas that have water. For example, in Prague if your rub a particular statue on the Charles Bridge you will ensure that you will come back. In Heidelberg if you rub the monkey statue before you cross the bridge you will ensure that you will find yourself in Heidelberg again one day.
Besides for the legend, the Trevi Fountain is also famous for being the backdrop to many movies such as When in Rome, Lizzie McGuire Movie, Roman Holiday, Eat Pray Love, & many more. If you would like to visit I highly suggest going at the crack of dawn. Despite not appearing like it in my photographs, there were well over 200 people at the fountain when I went. With some sweet talking, proper timing, and patience I was able to capture photographs without other people in them. I went around 8 pm in early July.
