A REAL PRINCE MARRIED A PRINCESS THERE:
Once I found out that Kate Middleton & Prince William had married at the Westminster Abbey I had to go inside! Unfortunately, on Sundays due to services you can not go inside & the day before it was closed to the public for renovations. I still got to see the outside though & it was so worth it! Commoners are not allowed to get married at the church, but Kate was pardoned. You can find photographs from the royal wedding HERE.

IT HAS THE OLDEST GARDEN IN ENGLAND
The College Garden originally grew herbs for medicine and food for the monks at the Abbey.
& THE OLDEST DOOR
Westminster Abbey also has the oldest door in England which has been carbon dated to 1050 A.D. For years, a legend grew that hide located on the door was of a flayed thief. This has since been proven to be cow's hide for decorative purposes.
THE ABBEY HAS SOME ODD HISTORY AS WELL
The Coronation Chair, the throne that British monarchs sit upon during coronation, was once not securely guarded and as a result choir boys inflicted graffiti, old school style, in the manner of carving their names onto it. The chair has been used for coronation since 1308.
