If you haven't been to Wildpark Hundshaupten, grab a fellow explorer & head on over. You can buy feed at the entrance and feed certain animals throughout the park. This enchanting wildlife park is surrounded by the nature of the Franconian Switzerland. Natural interesting rock formations can be found along the route in addition to cute animals.

If you happen to go on a weekend check out the souvenir shop that's open on weekends, public holidays, & school holidays. In the summer you can grab a bite to eat or beer at the restaurant located near the shop. I also heard through the grape vine that there is a falcon show on Sundays during summer.

This place is wonderful for hikers because due to the inclines you will get a great work out. It's also wonderful for families & nature lovers because the animals have become accustomed to visitors & will often approach you. Don't forget to to take in the scenery around you. The views are gorgeous near the sheep pen & the duck pond is rather romantic.

I am not much a blog reader, but I dig your style. It's not a long drawn out travel blog, like most I've seen (hence my disdain) but you actually post PERTINENT information, tips, and a "Things To Do" aspect. I love it! I am definitely subscribing. I've been in Bavaria going on 4 years and I had never heard of Donaustauf. So thank you for allowing them to feature your article in BavarianNews (via Bavaria Army.mil page).

That is so nice to hear! I try to get straight to the point, but still attempt to catch my readers attention. WOW! You've been here a good chunk of time! Lucky you! I wish we could live here that long! I try to go to places locally to save us money. We can't afford the big out of the country trips. I am happy to help the Bavaria Army website as often as I can. Thank you so much for subscribing. I am so thankful to have readers like you. :)

I see dogs are allowed in the park, do remember if there were areas dogs were not allowed to go?
