If you are looking for a Christmas Market that almost lives up to that magical feel of Guteneck, Wolfganshof is probably the closest you are going to get. The Christmas market has tiny cabins where you can snuggle up next to a heater with a group of friends surrounded by a rustic bliss. The entire market is decorated with wreaths and the green garland made me wonder how much money was invested into decorating this market. The decorations were to die for and I would snatch them up in heart beat to decorate the inside of my own home, haha.
What I loved about the market was the variety of vendor items to be purchased. I have never seen a variety at all of the markets I have been to. My husband even noted that this one actually didn't have the same thing over and over again like most markets do. You can look below to see a few of the items that I purchased which included a rustic bird cage, the frosted greenery leaves (which would have cost 5 times as much at Depot), and I also purchased a small sparkly frosted tree, and a mercury glass bulb ornament. Although we arrived when the market opened, the place was already bustling with the Christmas spirit. The market was huge and had a rustic, chic French farm vibe to me.
This is one of those markets that I wish we would have stayed and sat awhile with friends eating and drinking gluhwein and being merry. I highly suggest if you go to this one you make the time to stay awhile. There is a lot to take in and I think it would have been magical at night with the lights shining all around the schloss.
