I have heard so many negative things about the Nuremberg Christmas Market from locals. Yet, it is always at the top of the list for best German Christmas markets. The main thing I have seen people complain about is that it is packed.

So the question is, "Is it worth the hype & the crowds?"

It was busy when we went, but not as busy as I thought it'd be based on what others had said. It was the Tuesday before Christmas at 7pm when we went. Maybe because it was a week night it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be, but with it being so close to Christmas I still thought it'd be packed. Don't get me wrong, I still wouldn't bring pets or a stroller unless you go earlier in the day out of courtesy for those around you. Some woman kept running over my feet in an area that was busy with her stroller.

Other than that I think it is definitely worth a trip.
"Why should I go?"
you ask.

Go for the food!

They had a variety including these gingerbread cookies, Gluhwein, Schneeballs, bratwurst, & every restaurant type you can think of.

Go for the variety of ornaments!

180 stalls is a lot to browse. Do you like wooden ornaments, hand painted, glass blown, simple, elaborate, traditional, modern, touristy, themed, or oddity? They have it! Every type of ornament you could ask for, they seemed to have it.

Go for the architecture.

The cathedrals & castle over look the stalls as you shop your little Christmas heart out.

Go for the stores.

Don't like what you see at the Christmas market? Go for the stores surrounding it. There are tons of stores that have gifts for everyone on your list.

Word of advice is to
go for yourself!

I think it is worth the trip especially if you are local or you won't be here for long.

Thank you for sharing! I love them too! I am sad they only last a month, haha. I'm excited to go to a few more next year.
